It's helpful to know what anxiety attack symptons are, as many people mistakenly think they are having a panic attack when they are not. On the other hand, many people experience these symptons and don't do anything about it. If you've experienced any of these, you're likely deal with anxiety:
- Chest pains, racing heart, or palpitations
- Sweating, shaking, or numbness
- Blurry vision, dizziness, muscle spasms
- Inability to sleep, depression, desperation
- Weird mouth feelings (dry, odd taste)
Keep in mind that these don't mean that you're surely having an anxiety attack, but if you are experiencing any of these symptoms you really should get them checked out.
There are several things that you can do when these are occuring, which you most likely have heard several times before. You need to sit down and concentrate on your breathing and remember to drink water. Get help from someone nearby if you can. And that's about all you can do about it when you start to experience such symptoms. If you're anything like my brother, you'll realize that these little techniques are no substitute for a true prevention of the attacks.
That's why it's so importnat to get to the core of your disorder and take care of it from source. The issue originates from the amygdala of the brain and radiates throughout the body from there. If you learn to deal with the core problem, you will no longer have to worry about being prepared for these symptoms.
Just think about it for a minute. Who will have better luck in losing weight and keeping it off? A person that continues to eat unhealthily and exercises after ever bad meal, or a person that changes their eating habits and exercises after sufficient rest? I'll give you one guess. It's the person that gets to the core of the problem, not the one who decides to battle it day in and day out.
Once you realize these things you'll be well on your way to never experiencing these anxiety and panic symptoms again. Until then, you really have to attack the core.
